Founder

GOH AH ANG, Founder

Mr Goh Ah Ang was born in 1954 in Klang, Selangor Darul Ehsan. He founded Top-Art School of Art & Design in 1979. He is presently the President of the Association of Artists, Klang, Key Advisor for Federation of International Tsai-Mo Artists and the Malaysian Tsai-Mo Artist Ambassador for The Association of World Tsai-Mo Art. Mr Goh has also dedicated himself to art education all these years.

Mr Goh Ah Ang has held 18 solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous local and international joint exhibitions. Collectors of his works include the National Art Gallery Malaysia, Chung Khiaw Bank, Maybank, Dao Heng Bank of Hong Kong, Hume Industries (M) Berhad, Taegu Culture Art Hall of Korea, Zhengzhou Art Museum of China, Malaysian Institute of Art, and various Australian, West German, American, Canadian, Taiwanese, Singaporean and local private collectors.

Awards

In 1980, Goh has won a Meritorious Award in the National Ink Painting Competition.

In 1983, he was awarded the “Young Contemporaries ’83 Award” by the National Art Gallery. In the following year, he was invited to participate in a joint exhibition organized by The National Art Gallery for the six outstanding young artists of Malaysia.

In 1992 & 1995, he received the “Award in Children Art Education” from Zhengzhou Art Association of China.

In 2000, he received the “Silver Award in Art Education” by the committee of “The 5th World Peace Calligraphy & Art Exhibition”, San Francisco, USA. He was awarded “The 4 th Vitalon’s Art Educator Award” of Taiwan in 1994.

Exhibitions

In 1995, his work which was entitled “Window” was selected for publication in the Overseas Chinese Artists Art Collection, China.

In 1998, he was invited to exhibit his works at the Agora Gallery, Soho, New York.

In 2002, his work which was entitled “Where there’s life, there’s hope” was compiled in the “Masterpieces from The National Art Gallery of Malaysia”.
